Scholarship Open Doors 2024/2025 to study in Russia for free Bachelor’s , Master's and Doctoral

The International Open Doors Olympiad is launching for the eighth time! Depending on the selected track, Olympiad winners will have the opportunity to study for free in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program at a chosen university, or if the postdoctoral track is selected, they will be able to secure a position in one of the offered research projects.

Ph.D. track participants will be able to choose their future academic supervisor during the Olympiad and have an interview with them, while postdoctoral participants will interview the leaders of the chosen projects.

This time, 14 profiles are once again available. Participation in the Olympiad and subsequent university study can be in Russian or English. Foreign nationals from any country, as well as compatriots living abroad and stateless individuals, can participate in the Olympiad.

Who Can Participate?

  • Bachelor's track participants must have documents proving their completed secondary education.
  • Master's track participants must hold a Bachelor’s or Specialist’s diploma.
  • Ph.D. track participants need a Specialist or Master's degree. If they plan to complete their studies in 2025, they can apply without documents but must submit them after graduation.
  • Postdoctoral participants must have a Ph.D. or Doctor of Science degree by the registration start date (September 16).

How to Qualify?

After registering on the website, all participants must pass a short test in each of their chosen profiles. This testing is necessary to assess the participant's knowledge level and prepare them for the Olympiad interface. Participants have three attempts to pass the preliminary test.

The Bachelor's and Master's tracks are conducted online in two stages. In the first stage, portfolios are evaluated. Successful participants are invited to the second stage, where they solve Olympiad tasks under proctored supervision.

The Ph.D. track, in addition to the first two stages, also includes a third stage – an online interview with up to three potential supervisors of the participant's choice. If successful, the participant selects a supervisor from those willing to work with them. If the participant shows a high level of preparation but fails to find a supervisor with matching research interests in three interviews, they may have up to three additional interviews with university representatives.

The postdoctoral track follows a similar three-stage process. In the first stage, participants submit portfolios like other tracks. The second stage involves a video presentation in which participants justify their interest in a research project. Video presentations are recorded separately for each selected project. In the third stage, participants attend online interviews with project leaders who have approved their video presentations.
